2/50 - Red Velvet

Arnav closed the door behind him and processed to walk into the apartment. He walked into the living room for Khushi, but couldn't spot her. He was about to call her name when he turned the corner but this sight in front of him made him stop. There she was. Wearing his white shirt, that was oversized for her and ended a few inches above her knees. Her creamy legs were bare, the sleeves of the shirt folded up and hair in a messy bun. Taking quiet steps, he sauntered towards her. He wasn't suppose to arrive till another hour, but a meeting had been cancelled and he didn't have anything left to do for the rest of the day. Now standing right behind her, he slid his around her waist to the front. The warmth of her skin against his hand made her shudder and she squealed. He tightened his hold around her so she wouldn’t turn around towards her.

“You’re here early,” she said looking up at him over her shoulder with a pout adorning her lips.

“Usually girlfriends are happy when their boyfriends are home early, but I see that isn’t the case here,” he replied resting his chin on her shoulder.

“Who said I’m not happy?” Khushi interrupted before he could speak further.

“Then?” he question trailing his nose along the length of her swan-like neck.

“I was making a cake,” she told him and now he noticed her hands. She was icing what appeared to him a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

“Any special occasion?” he asked with a serious face only to receive a gawking look from her.

“Don’t tell me you forgot?!” she said turning around fire spitting through her eyes, a butter knife in her hands and pointing it at him.

“What?” he questioned her innocently a smirk playing on his lips.

“Arnav I hate you!!” she snapped back.

“Too late for that sweetheart, because I love you and have no intention of letting you think otherwise,” he said grabbing her wrist and pulling her frame up against his in a tight grip. He took the knife from her hand and put it on the counter.

“Did I ever tell you how beautiful you look when you’re angry? And that too while only wearing my white shirt?” his husky voice asked her as she struggled to get out of his hold.

“No,” she replied through her attempts.

“Well then let me show you,” he spoke with a mischievous glint in his voice while removing one of his arms from her back and put it under her knees to lift her up and walked towards their room.

“Arnav put me down now!” Khushi exclaimed beating at his chest.

“Not until after I show you what I said,” he answered back with a grin on his face, “And happy three years,” he said looking down at her and she stopped her beatings.

“You remembered?! But then why did you--,” her sentence was left incomplete as he took her lips in his. She heard the the slamming of their bedroom door closing with his leg, and decided it was better to talk later.
